In the final of the Finnish Football Cup in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on October 20, 1984, last year's finalists Lahden Kuusysi and Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi faced each other. Helsinki returned the favor with a 2-1 win for the loss in the previous season.
