Veikkausliiga 2003

The Veikkausliiga 2004 was the 15th season of the highest Finnish league in football the men under that name as well as the 74th season since their introduction in 1930. The season started on May 6 and ended on October 16, 2004. Defending champion and record holder at the same time was the HJK Helsinki from the Finnish capital. Tornion Palloveikot and Rovaniemi PS were newly promoted to the Veikkausliiga .

Haka Valkeakoski became the new champion , while defending champion HJK Helsinki only came in sixth.

mode

The 14 teams played against each other twice on a total of 26 match days, divided into a first and a second round. The bottom of the table was relegated directly, the penultimate had to be relegated.

Participating teams

Last year's Tenth FC Jokerit was taken over by HJK Helsinki and made him his second team. The sporty relegated FC KooTeePee Kotka was therefore allowed to stay in the Veikkausliiga.
