AC Allianssi
The AC Allianssi was from 2002 to 2006, existing Finnish football club based in Vantaa .
history
In 1980 the club FC Norssi was founded and renamed in 1995 after a merger with Johanneksen Dynamo in Atlantis FC based in Helsinki . In the 1997 season, the team rose to the second top division of Finland, the Ykkönen . Three years later followed the promotion to the top division, the Veikkausliiga . In 2001, Atlantis FC won the Finnish Cup by beating Tampere United 1-0 in the final . Atlantis FC went broke after this season and automatically relegated to the Finnish third division. The newly founded AC Allianssi took over the Veikkausliiga starting place .
AC Allianssi reached the cup final in 2003, which was lost against HJK Helsinki with 1: 2 after extra time. AC Allianssi won the Finnish League Cup twice, in 2004 and 2005. Allianssi achieved the best placement in the league in 2004 with second place.
Internationally, the club reached the third round of the 2003 UEFA Intertoto Cup , where it was eliminated by AC Perugia . The team also failed twice in qualifying for the UEFA Cup .
In the summer of 2005, the Chinese businessman Ye Zheyun took over the club. In the same year, AC Allianssi was investigated on suspicion of having manipulated the league game that was lost 8-0 at FC Haka . The case was dropped due to insufficient evidence. The following year, the club's manager, Belgian Olivier Suray , confirmed the manipulation.
On April 11, 2006, the AC Allianssi declared bankruptcy and was then excluded from the Veikkausliiga. In the same year, Allianssi Vantaa, a new football club, was founded in Vantaa, but it is not considered the official successor club of AC Allianssi.
