Atik Ismail (born January 5, 1957 in Helsinki ) is a former Finnish football player .
career
During his twelve-year career, Ismail completed 201 games in Mestaruussarja and scored 113 goals, most of them for his home club HJK Helsinki . He also played between 1978 and 1980 for Beşiktaş Istanbul in Turkey, KSV Waregem in Belgium and for AIK Solna in Sweden abroad, although he was not under contract with any of these clubs for more than a year. For Beşiktaş he scored six goals in 16 games.
Atik Ismail won the first Finnish championship in 1978 at HJK Helsinki, to which he had returned from local rivals Kiffen Helsinki at the beginning of the season . With 18 goals in 21 games, he was the top scorer and thus contributed significantly to the championship of the HJK, which the club secured with one point ahead of KPT Kuopio . After the season he moved to Turkey, but in 1979 he was back in the HJK squad and was again top scorer in the league.
After his stints in Belgium and Sweden, he played for HJK for four years between 1981 and 1984 and won both the championship and the cup in the first year and was Mestaruussarja's top scorer for the third time the following season. In 1984 he won the trophy again.
In 1985 he moved to the Finnish third division team Hyvinkään Apollo, then he played for the Pallo-Pojat and KPT Kuopio before ending his career in 1987. Already during his career he suffered from addiction problems, which he got back under control. In 1999 he ran unsuccessfully for the Greens in the European elections . Another time in 2009 on the list of the left alliance . He received 5,910 votes, but did not become a member of the European Parliament.
National team
With the U-18 national team, he won silver at the U-18 championship of UEFA in Switzerland in 1975. The Finns prevailed against the FRG, the GDR and the Soviet Union in the preliminary round and defeated Turkey 1-0 in the semi-finals. In the final against England, the Finns lost 1-0 after a golden goal.
Between 1978 and 1983 Ismail played 26 games for the men's national team , scoring seven goals.

family
Atik Ismail belongs to the Finnish Tatar national minority . His twin brother Adil Ismail also played for HJK Helsinki in Mestaruussarja.
His twin sons Ali Koljonen and Pele Koljonen (* 1988) also play soccer. Pele made his debut in 2006 for Kuopion Palloseura in the Veikkausliiga . Ali made his first division debut in 2012.
