The Premijer Liga 2016/17 , officially named BH Telecom Premijer Liga after a sponsorship agreement , was the 17th season of the highest Bosnian-Herzegovinian league in men's football . It started on July 23, 2016 and ended on May 28, 2017.
The league was reduced to twelve clubs for the 2016/17 season. In contrast to previous seasons, the season was carried out in a two-stage format. In the regular season each team played once at home and once away against each of the eleven other teams. After this phase, the six best teams qualified for the championship round, the bottom six played the two relegated teams in a relegation round. All results from the preliminary round were adopted.
