The league was reduced to twelve clubs for the 2015/16 season. In contrast to previous seasons, the season was carried out in a two-stage format. Initially, the twelve teams played against each other twice on 22 match days, divided into a first half and a second half. Then the best six clubs qualified for the promotion round in which the promoted team was determined. The bottom six teams identified four relegated teams in the relegation round. The results from the preliminary round were transferred to the promotion and relegation round.
1Mladost Velika Obarska was downgraded by the FSRS because of financial problems in the fourth class regional league . According to the association's decision, the league place was taken over by the actual relegated Sloboda Mrkonjić Grad.
