The Fudbalski Klub Leotar Trebinje is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football club from Trebinje . The club plays in the third-highest division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Druga Liga RS , in the 2016/17 season . The club colors are blue and white.
General
The association was founded in 1925 in the SHS state . In the early days, the club was part of the basin of future stars of Yugoslav football. Although the club always had strong footballers in its ranks, FK Leotar never made it into the top division of the former state until the breakup of Yugoslavia .
The club has been a member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Association since the beginning of the 2000s and has since played several seasons in the Premijer Liga , the highest Bosnian-Herzegovinian league. The home stadium of the club is the Police Stadium with a capacity of 8,550 people.
FK Leotar had their greatest success in 2003 when they became champions of Bosnia-Herzegovina for the first time. Due to this great success, the team played in the Champions League qualification a year later , but were eliminated in the second qualifying round against the Czech representative Slavia Prague . From then on, however, it went downhill in terms of sport: the financial problems got bigger and bigger, and FK Leotar finally relegated to the Prva Liga Republike Srpske in the 2013/14 season . There they just missed direct re-promotion in the first season as third
