Archaeological Museum at Neuburg Castle on the Danube

The Archaeological Museum Schloss Neuburg an der Donau is an archaeological and natural history museum in Neuburg an der Donau in Upper Bavaria in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen . The branch museum of the Archaeological State Collection in Munich is located in the City Palace. The exhibition focuses on geological development and the development of human culture. The highlights of the exhibition are valuable fossil finds , finds from the beginnings of human life in southern Germany, and grave finds from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages .

The museum was set up in the early 1970s as a prehistory museum in the renaissance palace run by the Bavarian Palace Administration .
