The Bosnian-Herzegovinian football championship 1999/2000 was the sixth season of the highest Bosnian-Herzegovinian league in men's football . It began on August 14, 1999 and ended on May 20, 2000.
Champion became the NK Brotnjo Čitluk .
mode
The 16 teams initially competed against each other twice on a total of 30 match days. Each team played once at home and once away against each of the fifteen other teams. The five best teams then played in the play-offs with the three best clubs in the Bosnian / Croatian league for the championship title.
The champions qualified for the first qualifying round for the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League , while the finalists and cup winners competed in the 2000/01 UEFA Cup . The HŠK Zrinjski Mostar played by reclaimed play-off in the 2000 UEFA Intertoto Cup . The last five clubs were relegated.
At the end of the season it was decided to merge the two associations and play in a joint league, the Premijer Liga.
