1On May 29, 2017, the Bulgarian Football Association declared that CSKA Sofia would not receive a UEFA license because of the "three-year rule". Accordingly, the club was not allowed to apply for a UEFA license for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. ZSKA filed an objection on the same day and initially retained its European place until the final decision. On June 19, 2017, shortly before the draw for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, UEFA excluded the club from participation and replaced it with fourth-placed Dunaw Russe.

    Relegation round

The teams in places 7 to 14 of the regular season were divided into two play-off groups using the serpentine method. The two best clubs in each group qualify for the Europa League playoff, while the two worst clubs had to continue to play in order to remain in the Parwa Liga .

Another double round was played between the four clubs of each group, with all results from the preliminary round being carried over.
