The A Grupa 1958/59 was the 35th season of the highest Bulgarian football league . ZDNA Sofia became champion for the sixth time in a row and for the ninth time.

mode

The season was changed from the calendar year rhythm to autumn / spring. The twelve teams played against each other twice on a total of 22 match days, divided into a first and a second half. At the end of the season, the two bottom of the table were relegated to the B Grupa .
