The A Grupa 1981/82 was the 58th season of the highest Bulgarian football league . The season began on August 22, 1981 and ended on June 6, 1982.

The 16 teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first and a second round. The descent was reorganized. The two bottom of the table were relegated directly and were replaced by the two winners of the north and south groups of the B Grupa . The teams in positions 13 and 14 played in the relegation against the second place finishers of the B Grupa for two more starting positions for the following season.
