FK Shumen 2010 ( Bulgarian футболен Клуб Шумен 2010 ) is a football club from Shumen , Bulgaria . The team plays their games in the Panayot Volov stadium with a capacity of 24,390 spectators.
history
The club was founded on December 1, 1929 as Panayot Wolow Shumen. In 1935 they reached the semi-finals of the national championship, losing 1-0 against FK Sofia.
From 1950 to 1965 the city was called Kolarovgrad . In 1957 they were promoted to the 2nd division . They played there until they were promoted to the first division in 1972 . The club was only able to stay there for a year. As bottom of the table, he rose again. In the 1983/84 season, as FK Shumen, it was similar. After the playoffs in the relegation, the downhill gear had to be started again.
In the 1993/94 season they were first class again. The team made it to fourth place. This entitles them to participate in the UEFA Cup . Against the Cypriot representative Anorthosis Famagusta came after a 0: 2 and 1: 2 the early end. The club has since lost its sponsors. After two more seasons in the first division, the club had to relegate again. 1998/99 and 1999/2000 were the last two years in the first division . In autumn 2000 the club went bankrupt.
A newly founded company acquired the license and merged with Junak Schumen to form FK Shumen 2001 , who came second in the second division twice in a row. From the 2007/08 season, the team got its old name again with PFK Wolow Shumen . The club could not hold the form in the following period, and so only the 10th place jumped out at the end of the 2009/10 season. The association also pressed liabilities of over 300,000 leva .
The club, now called FK Shumen 2010, currently plays in the 4th division (Regional Division).
