The A Grupa 1962/63 was the 39th season of the highest Bulgarian football league . Spartak Plovdiv became a master for the first time.

mode

The league was increased by two places to 16 clubs compared to the previous year. The teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first and a second round. At the end of the season, the two bottom of the table were relegated to the B Grupa .

From this season onwards, the goal difference applied in the event of a tie .
