The A Grupa 1957 was the 33rd season of the highest Bulgarian football league . ZDNA Sofia became champion for the fourth time in a row and for the seventh time.

In the spring of 1957, the voluntary sports organizations ( Bulgarian : DSO) were gradually dissolved and the clubs got their traditional name back.

The twelve teams played against each other twice on a total of 22 match days, divided into a first and a second round. At the end of the season, the two bottom of the table were relegated to the B Grupa .
