FK Spartak Pleven ( Bulgarian футболен Клуб Спартак Плевен ) is a football club from Pleven , Bulgaria .

history

The association was founded in 1919 as Skobelew Pleven. In the course of time, the club name has been changed several times.

The greatest success was third place in 1958 with third place, and a year earlier the move into the cup final of the Soviet Army Cup . Between 1950 and 2013, the club changed several times between the 1st and 2nd league. The team was represented internationally in the Intertoto Cup in 1981 . Two wins (against Malmö and Zurich ) faced four defeats.

The 2001/02 season was the last season in the 1st division . In 2009 the club had to file for bankruptcy, was re-established the next year and currently plays in the "Nord West V AFG", the third division.
