The Communauté de communes des Vallées d'Aigueblanche is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department , whose administrative seat is in the municipality of Grand-Aigueblanche . The community association currently consists of three communities on an area of 183.8 km 2 . Its area includes a section of the lower Tarentaise between Albertville and Moûtiers , as well as some areas in the southern flank of the Isère valley. The Valmorel ski area belongs to this part . André Pointet is the president of the community association.

Historical development

The intermunicipal cooperation in the area of Aigueblanche goes back to a cooperation concluded in 1974 between La Léchère and Aigueblanche, the district du bassin d'Aigueblanche , which was founded with the purpose of developing today's winter sports resort Valmorel in the common area. With the separation of the municipality of Les Avanchers-Valmorel from Aigueblanche in 1987, the district comprised three municipalities. At the same time, the association promoted the thermal facilities in La Léchère. After the transformation into a Communauté de communes at the beginning of 2002, the municipality of Saint-Oyen joined at the beginning of 2009 and the municipalities of Bonneval , Le Bois and Feissons-sur-Isère at the beginning of 2011 .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Aigueblanche , Le Bois and Saint-Oyen became part of the Commune nouvelle Grand-Aigueblanche and the former municipalities of La Léchère , Bonneval and Feissons-sur-Isère became the Commune nouvelle La Léchère . This reduced the number of member parishes to three. The administrative headquarters went to the Commune nouvelle .

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association operates the rescue services, the water supply, sewage disposal as well as the garbage collection and disposal. The association also promotes cultural and sporting events.
