Location of the association of municipalities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

The Communauté de communes Val Guiers is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department , whose administrative headquarters are in Belmont-Tramonet . It encloses an 88.1 km ² area in the western part of the Chartreuse , a limestone massif in the northern French Prealps. The community association founded in November 2000 is named after the Guiers river and currently consists of eleven communities. Robert Charbonnier is the president of the community association.

tasks

The competencies required include developing and promoting economic activities and tourism. The association of municipalities determines the entire spatial planning from the long-term plan within the framework of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale to the local housing policy. The Communauté de communes runs the road maintenance and rescue services, and is also active in environmental issues such as sewage disposal and garbage collection. In the field of culture and sport, the association builds and maintains the associated facilities and organizes events.

Historical development

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Saint-Genix-sur-Guiers , Gresin and Saint-Maurice-de-Rotherens were merged into the Commune nouvelle Saint-Genix-les-Villages . This reduced the number of member communities to eleven.
