The Communauté de communes Cœur de Tarentaise is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department , whose administrative headquarters are in Moûtiers . The name refers to its central location in the historic Tarentaise province .

The community association currently consists of six communities and has 9297 inhabitants (as of 2015) on an area of ​​277.2 km ² . It was created in December 2009 from the merger of eight municipalities, with Saint-Martin-de-Belleville joining as the ninth in early 2014 . Fabrice Pannekoucke is the president of the community association.

tasks

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association operates garbage collection and disposal as well as local public transport and school bus transport. In addition, the association builds and maintains cultural and sports facilities and promotes events in these areas.

Historical development

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipality of Saint-Jean-de-Belleville was incorporated into the Commune nouvelle Les Belleville . This reduced the number of member churches to six.
