The Communauté de communes du Canton de La Chambre is a French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department , whose administrative headquarters are in Saint-Étienne-de-Cuines .

The community association consists of 12 communities on an area of ​​275.9 km 2 . It is located in the Savoy High Alps on the border with the Isère department in the western Maurienne on the lower reaches of the Arc , a tributary of the Isère . Christian Rochette is president of the community association.

history

The association of municipalities was created at the turn of the year 2001/2002 as Communauté de communes de la Vallée du Glandon , which only covered the two municipalities of Saint-Alban-des-Villards and Saint-Colomban-des-Villards . A third parish, Sainte-Marie-de-Cuines , was added in 2007. At the turn of the year 2013/2014, the community association expanded to the entire canton of La Chambre and changed the name accordingly to Communauté de communes du Canton de La Chambre .

The competencies required include the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning on the basis of a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association operates the road maintenance, garbage collection and disposal. The association also builds and maintains sports and cultural facilities. Secular burial affairs are also the responsibility of the Communauté de communes.
