The Communauté de communes Porte de Maurienne is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Savoie department , whose administrative headquarters are in the municipality of Val-d'Arc . Its territory includes the lowest section of the Maurienne valley just before the mouth of the Arc in the Isère .
The community association was founded at the end of 1997 with eleven communities and since the admission of Épierre on January 1, 2014, consisted of twelve member communities. The number of members currently amounts to eleven over an area of 172.43 km 2 . Hervé Genon is the president of the community association.
tasks
The compulsory skills include the development and promotion of economic activities as well as spatial planning based on a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association operates the rescue services, the sewage disposal (partially) and the garbage collection and disposal. In addition, the association builds and maintains cultural and sports facilities and determines housing policy. Some tasks have been transferred to a higher-level association, the Syndicat du Pays de Maurienne , of which the seven municipal associations in the Maurienne Valley are members, including the promotion of tourism.
Historical development
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Randens and Aiguebelle became part of the Commune nouvelle Val-d'Arc . This reduced the number of member communities to eleven. The administrative headquarters went to the Commune nouvelle .
