Argentine is a French municipality with 954 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) within the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the canton of Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny (until 2015: canton of Aiguebelle ).
geography
Argentine is located about 31 kilometers east-southeast of Chambéry am Arc , which borders the municipality in the west. Argentine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Val-d'Arc with Aiguebelle in the north, Montsapey in the east and northeast, La Léchère in the east and southeast, Épierre in the south, Saint-Pierre-de-Belleville in the southwest, and Saint-Alban-d'Hurtières to the west and Saint-Georges-d'Hurtières to the west and northwest.
The former route nationale 6 (today's D1006) runs through the municipality .
