Valmeinier is a French municipality with 515 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhone Alps near the French- Italian border and is owned by the community association Maurienne Galibier on.
The ski resorts Valmeinier1500 and Valmeinier1800 together with the neighboring resort Valloire form the winter sports resort "Galibier Thabor" with 83 ski slopes of a total length of 150 km, which are accessed by approx. 35 ski lifts.
