Orelle is a French municipality with 349 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It is located in the canton of Modane and belongs to the communauté de communes Maurienne-Galibier .

Orelle is on the Arc River . The highest point in the municipality is the Pointe du Bouchet ( 3420  m ).

From Orelle ( 800  m ) you can go to the Val Thorens / Trois Vallées ski area with a 20-minute cable car ride (3 Vallées Express) via Refuge du Plan Bouchet (2350) and then with a chairlift over the Breche de Rosael Pass ( 3000  m ) reach. From the Refuge du Plan Bouchet , the Sommet des Pistes ( 3230  m ), which is also the highest navigable point in the Trois Vallées, can be reached.
