The canton of Modane is a French constituency in the Savoie department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It includes 16 communities in the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and has its main town (French: bureau centralisateur ) in Modane . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in 2015, it expanded and included the municipalities of the dissolved canton of Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne .

Until the reorganization, the 7 municipalities of Aussois , Avrieux , Fourneaux , Freney , Modane , Saint-André and Villarodin-Bourget belonged to the canton of Modane . Its layout corresponded to an area of 230.92 km 2 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 7317.
