Aussois is a French municipality with 679 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It is located in the canton of Modane .
The traditional mountain village is located at 1480 m above sea level at the foot of the Dent Parrachée . It is the starting point of a skiing area comprising 55 kilometers of slopes, which extends up to an altitude of 2750 m.
