Montricher-Albanne is a municipality in the Savoy in France . It belongs to the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes , the Savoie department , the district Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and Canton Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne . It was created with effect from January 1, 1970 through the merger of the previous municipalities of Montricher-le-Bochet and Albanne. It borders in the northwest with Villargondran , in the north with Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis , in the northeast with Saint-Martin-de-la-Porte , in the east and in the south with Valloire , in the southwest with Albiez-Montrond and in the west with Albiez -le-jeune . The inhabitants call themselves the Montrichelains, Albanois and Bouinats.
