Albiez-Montrond is a commune in the Savoie in France . It was created with effect from September 20, 1972 when the previous municipalities of Albiez-le-Vieux and Montrond were merged. It belongs to the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes , the Savoie department , the district Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and Canton Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne . It borders on Fontcouverte-la-Toussuire and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in the north-west, Albiez-le-Jeune in the north, Montricher-Albanne in the east, Valloire in the south-east and Saint-Jean-d'Arves in the south-west .
