The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and the canton of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne . The inhabitants are called Saint-Glenains .
geography
Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis is about 53 kilometers east of Grenoble on the banks of the Arc River . In the municipality lies the Croix de Têtes mountain at 2,492 meters. Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Tour-en-Maurienne with Hermillon in the north and west, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville in the north and north-east, Saint-Martin-de-la-Porte in the east, Montricher -Albanne in the south, Villargondran in the southeast and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in the west.
The Autoroute A43 and the former Route nationale 6 (today's D1006) run through the municipality .
