Profesionalen Futbolen club Neftochimik 1962 Burgas ( Bulgarian Професионален Футболен Клуб Нефтохимик 1962 Бургас or Нефтохимик short Neftochimik , usual transcription NEFTOCHIMIC ), short Nafta (bulg. Нафта) is a Bulgarian football club in Burgas . The nickname is "The Sheikhs". The club was Bulgarian runners-up in 1997 and two-time cup winners of the country (1996 and 1997). The club colors are green and white.

Nowadays, FC Chernomorets Burgas also plays in its home stadium Lasur Stadium , which has a capacity of 25,000 seats . Neftochimik plays in the B Grupa . The current trainer is Dimtscho Nenow . Plamen Nikolow has been sports director since November 7th.

history

The club was founded in 1962 by construction workers from the Neftochim refinery. At first there was no name. In the district league, the club played as "Stroitel" ( Bulgarian Строител , German construction worker). The first game was against “Lokomotiv Burgas”. When the decision was made in 1964 to name the now completed refinery Neftochim (today LUKOIL Neftochim Burgas ), the club was renamed Neftochimik (Bulgarian Нефтохимик , German chemical worker).

The Protochanov era

The club was able to celebrate its greatest successes after Christo Portotschanow had become club president in 1990. In 1994 Neftochimik rose to the highest national league, the A Grupa and subsequently developed into one of the strongest Bulgarian football teams. In 1995 Neftochimik made it into the semi-finals of the Bulgarian Football Cup. In 1996 and 1997 Neftochimik was Bulgarian Cup winner, in 2000 he lost 2-0 in the final against Levski Sofia . In 1997 the new Neftochimik Stadium was inaugurated with a 4-1 win against Levski Sofia. In the same year Neftochimik was runner-up behind CSKA Sofia, with two points difference.

In the following years Neftochimik was able to qualify twice for the UEFA Cup, but failed once in the preliminary round to Brann Bergen and 2001 in the first round to Lokomotiv Moscow .

The Sabew era

In 2002 " Petrol Holding " became the new owner of the association. Mitko Sabew became the president, and Plamen Kiryakov became the sports director. The stadium and club name Neftochimik was renamed Naftex, after a Petrol Holding company. After this change, 2006 saw the first relegation in the history of the club. Since Mitko Sabew was also the owner of another professional football club, PFC Naftex was transferred from the Bulgarian Football Association to the Second League - East. Mitko Sabew also became the owner of the second traditional football club from Burgas, FC Chernomorets Burgas (which also played in the second division at the same time) and tried to unite both teams. However, the fan groups of both clubs oppose this, as does the population in Burgas. After the unsuccessful attempt, he decided to give the Chernomorets FC the greater support. The better players of the two teams were bundled in FC Chernomorets, which has played its home games since then in the Naftex stadium, which was renamed the Lasur stadium for this purpose .

At the end of the 2006/07 season, FC Chernomorets took first and Naftex second in the 2nd division - East. FC Chernomorets was able to rise directly in the Bulgarian First League, Naftex had to through the relegation, which it lost. After the unsuccessful immediate promotion to the A Grupa in the 2006/07 season, the owner changed again. From July 2007 the owner was called Festa Holding , which is, however, close to Mitko Sabew. In the next few years Naftex could not move up and acted more and more as the second team of FC Chernomorets.

The 2008/09 season ended the PFC Naftex in the B Grupa in second place and had to go again through the relegation, which it lost to FK Sportist Swoge 4: 6 n. V.

Since 2009

On July 3, 2009, the sports directorate of FC Chernomorets Burgas and Naftex decided to unite the PFC Naftex with the third division Pomorie and to play with the license from Naftex in the second division under the name of FC Chernomorets (Pomorie) . This came to the conclusion after another attempt was made to reunite PFC Naftex with FC Chernomorets Burgas, which caused renewed excitement among fans and the public in Burgas.

PFC Naftex or FC Chernomorets (Pomorie) officially became the second team of FC Chernomorets. Many of the players from Naftex who did not move to FC Chernomorets Burgas and FC Chernomorets (Pomorie) looked for new teams. Some players around Milen Georgiev , as well as other former players from Neftochimic (including Todor Kiselitschkow , Mitko Trendafilow , Anton Spasow ) founded the club FC Nefchtomic in 1986, which had no license and was supposed to play in the lowest division. In the meantime, one of Neftochimic's most famous players, Stantscho Zonew , had become the playing sports director of the FK Atletik football club , which played in the Southeast Third League. In the same month it was decided to unite the FK Athletics with FC Nefchtomic 1986 under the name FC Nefchtomic 1986 and thus revive the tradition of Neftochimics. After this step, the owner of FC Chernomorets Burgas, Mitko Sabew, transferred all sporting successes of the former FC Neftochimic and PFC Naftex to the new club, but kept the former Neftochimics stadium (now Lasur Stadium ) for his club.

From the 2009/2010 season, FC Neftochimic 1986 Burgas will play as the official successor to Neftochimic Burgas in the third Bulgarian league Southeast, without ever being relegated. The former “Tscherweno Zname” stadium in the Dolno Eserowo district, which has a capacity of 2,000 seats, became the new home stadium. The coach was Dimitar Stojtschew , who had already held this post in the 90s. The playing sports director was Milen Georgiev, the other sports director is Stantscho Zonew . The club was owned by the construction company Eurobuilding Engineering , which is related to Zonew and took over the financing of the club.

The first game in the W Grupa Südost was won by FC Neftochimic Burgas in 1986 6-0 against the team from Chaskowo, in front of about 3,000 fans. At the end of the season you reached the 3rd place with 77 points, and you couldn't qualify for B Grupa. At the end of June, the former players Gantscho Eftimow and Georgi Tschilikow became coach and assistant coach, respectively. The sports directors are Milen Georgiev and Stantscho Zonew .

In the 2010/11 season, Neftochimik returned to its former stadium. The reason: the police did not want to take responsibility for the staging of the third division derby against the also traditional Botew Plovdiv in the smaller Dolno Eserowo. The game took place on November 28, 2010 and was attended by around 10,000 spectators. The game broke the attendance record for a third division game, which was won 1: 2 by Botew.

The club owner changed during the winter break. New owners became companies around the entrepreneurs Nikolaj Filipow and Valentin Karavaltschew from Burgas. The latter will act as the new president. Blagomir Mitrew will be playing coach again and Georgi Tschilikow will stay or assistant coach in the club. The short-term goal is a return to Bulgarian professional football. At the end of the season, Neftochimik was second behind Botew Plovdiv with 81 points and was able to qualify for a relegation game for entry into the Bulgarian second division. The relegation game against Septemwri Terwel on June 26, 2011 Neftochimik won 0: 1 and was thus able to qualify for professional football in the second Bulgarian B Grupa . After the successful season Dimitar Stojtschew returned as a coach.

For the 2010/11 season Angel Stojkow was the new coach of Neftochimic.
