The Lasur Stadium ( Bulgarian стадион Лазур ) is one of the few pure football stadiums in Bulgaria and the most modern in the country. The stadium is located in the Lasur district of the Black Sea city of Burgas , near the city beach and Lake Atanasov . The PSFC Chernomorets Burgas bears because of the conversion of his own stadium its home games here.

history

The first stadium was built in 1967, but completely renovated and expanded between 1990 and 1997. The official inauguration took place on April 13, 1997 with the game between FK Neftochimik and Levski Sofia (4: 1). The stadium was called "Neftohimik" until 2002, "Naftex" until 2006 and until 2009 was the home stadium of FK Neftochimik. Since 2009 it has been the home stadium of local rivals FC Chernomorets Burgas (see The Sabev era ) and bears its current name. Today it has 18,037 seats and 302 VIP seats. The north and south stands are covered and have 10,000 seats and 11 separate journalist booths. In 2003 the stadium was renovated. Since August 2008, the same artificial turf has been used as in the Stade de Suisse in Bern. In 2009 the stadium was partially renovated again. The seats of the replacement benches and the VIP lounge with Recaro seats were completely renewed and the green seats in the stadium were replaced by blue ones.

The Lasur Stadium is the only stadium in Bulgaria that is licensed for matches in all UEFA competitions ( UEFA Champions League , UEFA Europa League, etc.), for European and World Cup qualifications for the Bulgarian national team and for matches in the Bulgarian leagues.

Other clubs also use the stadium for their international appearances, including Litex Lovetsch (e.g. for the Champions League game against Spartak Moscow ), Lokomotive Plovdiv (for the Champions League game against Club Bruges and the UEFA Cup Games against OFK Belgrade and Bolton Wanderers ) and Tscherno More Warna (for the UEFA Intertoto Cup game against Sampdoria Genoa and Europa League games, e.g. against PSV Eindhoven )

In the 2010/11 season, FC Neftochimik returned to its former stadium. The reason: the police did not want to take responsibility for the third division game against the also traditional Botew Plovdiv in the Dolno Eserowo Stadium (max. Capacity 2,000 seats). The game took place on November 28, 2010 and was attended by around 10,000 spectators. The game broke the attendance record for a third division game, which was won 1: 2 by Botew.

In May 2012, the Bulgarian Football Association decided to host the final of the Bulgarian Cup and the Supercup between the 2011/12 and 2014/15 seasons in the Lasur Stadium.

In 2015, the U-17 European Football Championship matches were played in the stadium , including the final.
