The Tušanj City Stadium is a football stadium in the BiH town of Tuzla . It has space for 15,000 spectators and serves as a home for the clubs FK Sloboda Tuzla and FK Tuzla City .

history

The Tušanj Stadium in Tuzla, an industrial city with around 130,000 inhabitants in the northeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina , was completed in 1957, after construction had started in 1947, ten years earlier. The stadium opened on July 12, 1957. For the first game in the new stadium, the future user club, FK Sloboda Tuzla and NK Zagreb met for a friendly game, which the hosts won 5-2. Since that day, the FK Sloboda Tuzla club has been using the Tušanj stadium as a venue for home football matches. The club has not had many successes in its history; participation in the 1977/78 UEFA Cup is arguably the greatest success in the club's history. At that time, the Tušanj stadium experienced a game in an international competition for the first and only time when UD Las Palmas visited Tuzla and lost 3: 4. Since Las Palmas won the first leg 5-0, the Spaniards and not FK Sloboda Tuzla qualified for the second round. The club currently plays in the first Bosnian football league, the Premijer Liga , where they finished eighth in the past season (2018/19). Tušanj Stadium today has a capacity of 15,000 spectators. When it opened in 1957, it had a capacity of 10,000 spectators. The current capacity was reached during renovation work in 2004. Before that, changes to the stadium took place in 1979.
