The Ykkönen 2018 was the 25th season of the second highest Finnish football league under this name and the 86th season since the official introduction of such in 1930. It began on April 28, 2018 and ended on October 27, 2018.

Klubi 04 , AC Kajaani and KTP Kotka joined as promoters from Kakkonen 2017 . The latter took over the league place from Oulun Palloseura , as this did not receive a first division license. From the Veikkausliiga 2017 , JJK Jyväskylä and Helsingfors IFK were relegated as losers .
