Evan William Bush (born March 6, 1986 in Concord Township , Ohio ) is an American football goalkeeper who is under contract with Montreal Impact .

Career

college

After graduating from Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio , Bush attended the University of Akron and played for the local college team Akron Zips. During this time, he was appointed to the selection of the NSCAA all-Great Lakes Region. So he was nominated three times for the All-Mid American Conference selection. In addition to college, he played for the Chicago Fire Premier , Cleveland Internationals and Cape Cod Crusaders in the USL Premier Development League .

Major League Soccer

In 2009 Bush played his first professional game for the Cleveland City Stars , a total of seven games there. The following year he signed with Crystal Palace Baltimore , for which he was on duty 25 times.

In March 2011, he moved to Montreal Impact , where he initially could not prevail against the goalkeeper Bill Gaudette . After he was injured, Bush was a regular player in the North American Soccer League . In 2012, he moved from Montreal Impact to the MLS, where he could not prevail against his teammate Troy Perkins . Bush played his first Major League Soccer game on June 30, 2012 against DC United , which was his only game of the 2012 season . After the season, Bush took part in friendly matches against international opponents such as Olympique Lyon and Fiorentina .

In the 2013 MLS season , Perkins was also used in only one game. Bush was also the goalkeeper in the Canadian Championship (four games) and the CONCACAF Champions League (also four games). During the 2014 season , coach Frank Klopas decided after a goalkeeping error by regular goalkeeper Troy Perkins that he wanted to bet on Evan Bush until further notice. Bush made 13 league games in the season.

At the end of the CONCACAF Champions League 2014/15 he was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
