The Canadian Championship 2014 (officially: Amway Canadian Championship ) was a soccer tournament which was organized by the Canadian Soccer Association and was used to determine the Canadian participants in the CONCACAF Champions League 2014/15 .
The field of participants consisted of the Canadian clubs Toronto FC , Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact from Major League Soccer and FC Edmonton and Ottawa Fury , which played in the North American Soccer League , which are participating in professional game operations in North America .
The tournament was played in knockout mode with semi-finals and finals. Three of the semi-final places were awarded to the teams from the MLS. The fourth place in the semifinals was played in a qualifier between Ottawa Fury and FC Edmonton. The matches were played back and forth, with the better seeded team having home rights in the second leg or in the final, in which of the two games it wanted to exercise home rights.
The first leg of the qualification took place on April 24, 2014, the semi-finals were on May 7 and 14. The finals were played on May 28th and June 4th.
