The Canadian Championship 2015 (officially: 2015 Amway Canadian Championship ) was a soccer tournament organized by the Canadian Soccer Association and used to determine the Canadian participants in the CONCACAF Champions League 2016/17 . The event took place from April 22, 2015 to August 25, 2015.
The field of participants consisted of the Canadian clubs Toronto FC , Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact from Major League Soccer and FC Edmonton and Ottawa Fury , which play in the North American Soccer League , which participate in professional play in North America .
The tournament was played in knockout mode with semi-finals and finals. Three of the semi-final places were awarded to the teams from the MLS. The fourth place in the semifinals was played in a qualifier between Ottawa Fury and FC Edmonton. The matches were played back and forth, with the better seeded team having home rights in the second leg or, in the final, being able to choose in which of the two games it exercised home rights.
