Timothy Ryan Parker (born February 23, 1993 in Hicksville ) is an American football player .

The defender has been playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer since the 2015 season .

Career

Youth and amateur football

Parker played for his university's soccer team while at St. John's University. There he scored three goals in 62 games. In 2012 he also played in the Premier Development League for the Long Island Rough Riders . In 2013 he was active in the National Premier Soccer League with the Brooklyn Italians during the semester break .

Vancouver Whitecaps

Parker was chosen as the 13th pick in the first round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the Vancouver Whitecaps . On March 30, 2015, Parker made his professional debut in the United Soccer League for the second team of the Vancouver Whitecaps. Parker made his MLS debut on May 3, 2015.

National team

In January 2016, Parker was named to the United States national soccer team for the first time . Was not used in the two games.
