Octavio Rivero , full name Raúl Octavio Rivero Falero , (born January 24, 1992 in Treinta y Tres , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.87 meter tall offensive player Rivero began his football training in his hometown near Huracán de Treinta y Tres . He then played from 2008 for Defensor Sporting . At the beginning of his professional career in the 2012/13 season he was part of the squad of the first division club Central Español . With the Montevideans he scored three goals in 19 first division appearances. In August 2013, he then joined the league competitor Club Atlético Rentistas . There he played in 17 games in the Primera División in the 2013/14 season and scored ten times in the opposing goal. He scored nine of these goals in the 2014 Clausura and was the top scorer in this half-series. After the season he moved to Chile on loan for four seasons to the first division club CD O'Higgins, who was coached by Facundo Sava . In the 2014/15 season he was used 16 times (ten goals) in the Chilean Primera División .
On December 25, 2014 Rivero moved to Major League Soccer for the Vancouver Whitecaps . He signed a contract as a " Young Designated Player ", for this reason he is allowed to receive a salary above the maximum limit of the MLS. In his first league game, on March 7, 2015, he scored the first goal for the team. For the Canadians, he played in 48 MLS league encounters and scored twelve times in the opposing goal. There are also four appearances and two goals in the Canadian Championship, which his club won in 2015. At the beginning of July 2016, he joined the Chilean club CSD Colo-Colo , for which he has so far (as of March 2, 2017) 14 league games (3 goals), seven games (3 goals) of the Copa Chile and two matches (no goal) of the Copa Libertadores 2017 .
National team
Rivero was part of the Uruguayan U-17 team coached by Roland Marcenaro , which took part in the 2009 U-17 South American Championship in Chile and took 3rd place.
