Saphir Sliti Taïder (born February 29, 1992 in Castres ) is an Algerian - French football player . The midfielder made his debut for the Algerian national team in 2013 .

Athletic career

In the club

Taïder, who has been compared to Claudio Marchisio , learned to play football in his hometown at Castres FC before joining Grenoble Foot in 2008 through the US Albi youth team . In May 2010 he made his debut for the club in Ligue 1 . After the club's relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the season , he was awarded a professional contract in July of that year. In the following season he became a regular and also played his way into the French youth teams.

After the license withdrawal and crash of Grenoble Foot in the fifth division in the following year Taïder left the club and joined the Italian club FC Bologna . Here, too, the midfielder established himself in the squad. In January 2012, Bologna exchanged part of the transfer shares in Taïder with Juventus Turin for shares in the Dane Frederik Sørensen , but bought them back five months later.

For the 2013/14 season , Taïder moved to Inter Milan , but Bologna retained half of his transfer rights. Inter acquired this in July 2014, making Taïder 100% owned by Inter.

In August 2014 moved Taïder initially on loan in the Premier League for Southampton FC . In return, Pablo Daniel Osvaldo - also on loan - moved to Inter Milan. But on September 1, 2014, his contract at Southampton was terminated by mutual agreement. Taïder then returned to Serie A and switched to US Sassuolo on loan .

On August 31, 2015, Taïder was loaned to Bologna FC for two years. When the loan ended, Bologna signed Taïder from Inter Milan.

In January 2018, Taïder moved to Montreal Impact on loan . There he was taken under contract by the Canadians two years later after good performance.

In the national team

Taïder, whose mother comes from Algeria and whose father comes from Tunisia , played in several youth teams in his native France , but then decided against the French and the Algerian federation , while his brother Nabil plays for the Tunisian national team. On March 26, 2013 he made his debut against Benin in the Algerian national team supervised by Vahid Halilhodžić .
