Fredrik Jensen (born September 9, 1997 in Porvoo ) is a Finnish football player . He is under contract with FC Augsburg .

Career

The Finland Swede Fredrik Jensen joined FC Futura in his youth and moved to HJK Helsinki via FC Honka Espoo . On January 1, 2014 he went to the Netherlands to attend the FC Twente youth academy . He followed his brother Richard , who had already moved to Enschede in 2012. After 22 appearances in competitive games for the A-youth and six appearances for the second team, he moved up to the professional team for the 2016/17 season. On August 6, 2016, he made his professional football debut in a 2-1 draw on the first day of the Eredivisie match against Excelsior Rotterdam . In the 2016/17 season he made 25 appearances and four goals in the league in which FC Twente took seventh place, four appearances for the second team in the Tweede Divisie and one appearance in the competition for the KNVB-Beker . In the 2017/18 season he scored five goals in 30 games and was relegated with the team at the end of the season; in the competition for the KNVB-Beker he played four times.

For the 2018/19 season, Jensen moved to the Bundesliga for FC Augsburg and signed a contract that was valid until June 30, 2023. On October 27, 2018 (9th matchday) he made his debut in a 2-1 win in the away game against Hannover 96 with his substitution for Koo Ja-cheol in the 68th minute; He scored his first Bundesliga goal on December 13, 2019, the 15th matchday of the following season in a 4-2 win in the away game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim with the goal to make it 3-1 in the 56th minute.

National team

On March 28, 2017, he made his debut for the Finnish national team in a 1-1 test match at the Tivoli Stadion Tirol in Innsbruck against the national team of Austria and scored his first international goal .
