Mads Giersing Valentin "Mini" Pedersen (born September 1, 1996 in Kokkedal ) is a Danish football player . He is under contract with FC Augsburg and is a multiple Danish junior national player.

Career

Pedersen had played in Snekkersten and Nivå-Kokkedal as a child before joining HUI at the age of nine . He also trained at FC Nordsjælland and moved to Farum BK at the age of twelve. On June 11, 2015 he received a professional contract and made his debut on September 27, 2015 in a 2-0 win on matchday ten of the 2015/16 Superliga season against Aarhus GF in the men's division. Pedersen came this season to a use in the Danish Cup competition and 16 in the league, in which FC Nordsjælland finished ninth in the table. In the following season, the club qualified for the championship round, but there they missed qualifying for the international competition as fifth. In total, Pedersen appeared in competitive games for the club over 100 times.

For the 2019/20 Bundesliga season , FC Augsburg signed the defender and provided him with a contract valid until June 2024. Pedersen only played two Bundesliga games and one appearance in the DFB Cup in Augsburg and was awarded to FC Zurich during the winter transfer period to the end of the season in the Swiss Super League . There the Dane played two of four possible league games, one of which over the full playing time until the season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic . Before the resumption of play, FC Zurich announced Pedersen's return to Augsburg in mid-June 2020 because the loan contract had not been extended.

National team

Pedersen played eight games for the Danish U18 national team , 13 for the U19 and three for the U20 selection. On January 20, 2016, he played for the Danish U21 national team for the first time in a goalless draw in a friendly against Ukraine in Belek, Turkey . In the summer of 2017, Pedersen was nominated by coach Niels Frederiksen in the Danish squad for the U21 European Championship in Poland and used in two games. The Danish team retired after the group stage.
