Tobias Strobl (born May 12, 1990 in Munich - Pasing ) is a German soccer player . The defensive player will play for FC Augsburg from the 2020/21 season .

Career

Strobl began his career at the age of six at SV Aubing . In the summer of 2000, the student at the secondary school in Taufkirchen switched to TSV 1860 Munich . In addition to his talent as a footballer, he also developed a passion for golf ; as a 15-year-old he was a Bavarian champion in his age group. From then on, however, he focused on football. After going through the youth teams of TSV 1860 Munich, he moved up to the U23 squad in the Regionalliga Süd in 2009 . Strobl made his first appearance for the second representation of Munich on May 23, 2009 in the game at KSV Hessen Kassel . Since the beginning of November 2009 he trained irregularly with the first team of TSV 1860. There he was not used yet. In the summer of 2010 Strobl was to be awarded for one year to the third division club SpVgg Unterhaching , but their sports director Francisco Copado canceled shortly before the contract was signed. By summer 2011, he played a total of 59 games for the little lions and scored one goal.

After the end of his contract, he moved to TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2011 , where he became a regular in the second team; in 20 games he scored two goals. On February 11, 2012 Strobl made his debut in the Bundesliga in the 1-1 game against Werder Bremen when he came on for Sebastian Rudy in the 83rd minute . During the summer break of 2012, he extended his contract until 2014.

He played with the club in the Champions League , dropped out in the group stage and then made it to the second round of the Europa League , where they lost to league rivals Schalke 04 . In the national cup it was not over until the semi-finals, in the Bundesliga they finished ninth and missed the re-qualification for the European Cup. Strobl had been on the field in 37 competitive games and had prepared two goals.
