Glen Kamara (born October 28, 1995 in Tampere , Finland ) is a Finnish professional footballer .
The midfielder initially played for small Finnish clubs in his youth, before moving to the big club Arsenal via English fourth division club Southend United . Glen Kamara could not prevail at Arsenal FC and after two loan engagements, he joined Dundee FC in Scotland in 2017 ; since 2019 he has been under contract with the Glasgow Rangers . He also played for the Finnish national team for the first time in 2018 .
Career

Glen Kamara, whose parents are from Sierra Leone , played at OT-77 and EPS during his youth in Finland and Southend United in England before joining the Arsenal Football Academy in 2012 . On 9 December 2014, he was part of the professional team in the 4-1 away win in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League against Galatasaray Istanbul , but was not used. His first game for the professionals was played on October 27, 2015 at 3-0 in the League Cup in the away game against Sheffield Wednesday . After initially playing on loan at his youth club Southend United and Colchester United , Glen Kamara joined the Scottish first division club Dundee FC in July 2017 . In Dundee he fought for a regular place and came to 32 missions in the regular season and five in the following round of relegation, at the end of which was relegation. In the Scottish Cup, he came to three missions and was eliminated in the second round, in the League Cup was the quarter-finals, with Kamara in six games. The following season he was one of the regular players despite an initial knee injury, but between the 20th and 23rd match day he was not in the squad in three of four games.
On January 5, 2019, Glen Kamara signed a preliminary contract with Glasgow Rangers , but at the end of the month he moved to Glasgow for a transfer fee of £ 50,000 with immediate effect . After he was not part of the squad for the first two games after his move, he fought for a regular place and was runner-up with the Rangers .
National team
Glen Kamara played for the Finnish U19 and Finnish U21 national teams and was part of the Finnish senior team in the friendly against Estonia in Turku on June 9, 2015 , but was not used. Two years later he made his debut for the Finnish national team in a 3-0 win in the friendly against the same opponent in Helsinki . In League B of the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League , Glen Kamara played in all four games and became group winners with his team. In the subsequent qualification for the 2020 European Championship , the team qualified on November 15, 2019 with a 3-0 victory in the penultimate game in Helsinki for the Europe-wide finals , Finland's first participation in a European Championship.
