Klovharu is an island in the Gulf of Finland off the coast of Finland .

geography

Klovharu (also: Klovaharun) is located near the island of Pellinki in the archipelago south of Porvoo , to whose municipal area it also belongs.

history

In 1964 the Finnish poet Tove Jansson and her partner, the Finnish artist Tuulikki Pietilä , built a simple wooden hut on the island and a toilet next to it. The two spent the summer months on this almost vegetation-free island until 1992. In 1995 Jansson donated the house to a society in Pellinki, which makes it available to artists for a few weeks during the summer months.
