Nikola Katić (born October 10, 1996 in Ljubuški , Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Croatian football player .

Career

society

Katić started his career in Bosnia and Herzegovina at HNK Stolac . During the winter break of the 2013/14 season he moved to Croatia to the third division club NK Neretvanac Opuzen .

In the winter break of the 2015/16 season he moved to the first division club NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica . He made his debut in the 1st HNL in April 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Filip Ozobić on match day 32 of that season against NK Osijek in stoppage time . However, this was his only use for Slaven Belupo this season.

The following season he made his starting XI debut against Dinamo Zagreb in July 2016 . Then Katić became a regular player; at the end of the season he had 29 games in the top Croatian league to book. He scored his only goal of the season in May 2015 on the 32nd matchday in a 2-0 win against NK Istra in 1961 by making it 1-0. In the following season he completed 34 games as a regular player.

In June 2018 Katić moved to the Scottish Premiership for the Glasgow Rangers and signed a four-year contract.

National team

In March 2017 Katić played against Slovenia for the first time for the Croatian U-21 team .

In May 2017 he made his debut for the senior team when he in a friendly against Mexico in the 83rd minute for Ivan Santini came on.
