Joshua "Josh" McPake (born August 31, 2001 in Coatbridge ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with the Glasgow Rangers .

Career

Josh McPake was born in the Scottish town of Coatbridge, about 15 km east of Glasgow . He began his career in the youth of the Glasgow Rangers . In the 2018/19 season he was named Youth Academy Player of the Year by the Rangers after winning the Reserve League, U18 League and Scottish Youth Cup and Glasgow Cup . McPake signed his first professional contract on July 10, 2019, which will run until the summer of 2022 with the Rangers. A week later he made his professional debut for Rangers in a Europa League qualifier against Gibraltar 's St Joseph's FC at Ibrox Park when he came on for Greg Docherty in the 67th minute . On August 20, 2019, 17-year-old McPake was loaned to Dundee FC until January 2020 . For the second division, he came on seven missions.

National team

Josh McPake made his debut in 2017 for the Scottish U17 national team . He also scored his first goal in his first game in this age group when he scored in a 2-1 loss to Italy . By 2018 he played six more games but remained without a goal. In 2018 he played two games in the U18 . In September 2019, McPake made his U19 debut against Japan . In his fifth game, in October 2019, he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win against Germany .
