Joe Aribo (born July 21, 1996 in Camberwell , London ) is an English football player who is under contract with the Glasgow Rangers .

Career

Born in the London borough of Camberwell , Aribo began his career at Staines Town about 20 kilometers from the city of his birth. For the club, he played a total of 22 games in the Isthmian League in the 2014/15 season .

Aribo was in trial training at the English third division club Charlton Athletic from September 2015 . Six months later he signed his first professional contract with the club from the London borough of the same name. He made his first-team debut on October 4, 2016 in the EFL Trophy game against Crawley FC, which was lost 2-0. In the 2018/19 season , Aribo was a regular on the Charlton team. In 39 league games he scored ten times, making it the third-best goalscorer after strikers Lyle Taylor and Karlan Grant . In the play-offs, the promotion to the English second division succeeded after the Doncaster Rovers and Sunderland AFC were defeated.

In June 2019, Aribo joined Glasgow Rangers in Scotland for a fee of £ 300,000 and signed a four-year deal. He made his debut for Rangers in the European Cup against St Joseph's FC from Gibraltar. In the second leg he scored his first goal in the Rangers jersey in a 6-0 win.
