Borna Barišić (born November 10, 1992 in Osijek ) is a Croatian football player .

Career

society

Barišić started his career at NK Osijek . In January 2012 he moved to third division club NK BSK Bijelo Brdo . After a year and a half, he returned to Osijek. He made his debut in the 1st HNL in July 2013 when he was in the starting line-up against Dinamo Zagreb on matchday one of the 2013/14 season and was replaced by Antonio Pavić in the 55th minute .

After two years at Osijek, he moved to Dinamo Zagreb for the 2015/16 season. After only one game for Zagreb, he was awarded to league competitor NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in August 2015 . After the loan ended, he did not return to Dinamo in the summer of 2016, but instead rejoined the NK Osijek. As fourth he was able to secure an international starting place with Osijek in the 2016/17 season. Barišić came in that season on 32 missions in which he scored one goal.

In August 2018 he joined Glasgow Rangers in Scotland for a fee of £ 2.2 million .

National team

Barišić was appointed to the Croatian national team for the first time in December 2016 .

He made his national team debut in January 2017, when he was brought into play in the 64th minute for Mario Šitum in the semi-finals of the China Cup, a friendly match tournament against Chile . In March 2019, he scored his first international goal against Azerbaijan .
