Andrew "Andy" Firth (born September 26, 1996 in Ripon ) is an English football goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Glasgow Rangers since 2019 .

Career

Andy Firth joined the U-11 youth team at Liverpool FC in 2007 . He played for the club in the following years in the club's youth, most recently in the U-23. In January 2018 Firth was awarded to fifth division club Chester FC from the National League . In the back series of the 2017/18 season , he completed eleven league games for the later relegated team. In the game against Aldershot Town on March 17, 2018, he remained clean. After his loan, he briefly returned to Liverpool before moving to AFC Barrow in the fifth division in July 2018 . For the club from Barrow-in-Furness , Firth was the regular goalkeeper between the posts for the first three months of the 2018/19 season . Later he lost that place. In January 2019 he moved to the Glasgow Rangers in Scotland. His coach at the Rangers was Steven Gerrard, his former U-18 coach in Liverpool and also an icon of the Reds. Behind Allan McGregor and Wes Foderingham , he is the third goalkeeper in the Rangers squad.
