The Monegasque national football team ( Monegasque La Seleciun de Munegu ) is the national team of the Principality of Monaco under the direction of the Fédération Monegasque de Football . He is neither a member of FIFA nor UEFA and therefore does not take part in the qualifying matches for the football world and European championships . Monegasque clubs play in the French leagues, including the successful AS Monaco in Ligue 1 , which won the championship title in 2017.

So far, the Monegasque national team has only played against other non-UEFA / FIFA members, including Vatican City , Gibraltar (member of UEFA since 2013 and member of FIFA since 2016), Chechnya , Occitania , Sápmi and Kosovo (member of FIFA and the UEFA). In 2006 Monaco finished second in the Viva World Cup , an unofficial non-FIFA World Cup .
